The visit will begin at 2 pm.

Directions – follow the general directions to Dartington Hall here

Turn off the A384 at the sign post to Dartington Hall and Estate. There is a church on the corner, then a drive to Schumacher College on the left, then the drive to Dartington Dairy. This is where we are going and you can park at the farm here.

There is a café and a restaurant at the Estate so you may like to come early and have lunch – you will need to park in the main car park for this.

We will then be taken on a tour of the farm and estate in the tractor trailer – numbers will be restricted to 20 to fit in the trailer. We shall see the deer park, an agro forestry project and various farm diversification projects. We will then go back to the farm and have a look at the small processing plant where they process goats milk into kefir, yoghurt and ice-cream before being able to see the beginning of the goats’ milking. The farmer’s name is Jon Perkin and he will be telling us about the farm and the various projects and will be happy to answer questions as we go around.

The farm has mainly goats and Jersey cows and various specialist arable crops such as heritage wheat – so it will be quite an interesting, out of the ordinary (if there is such a thing) farm visit.
