I share with you the Methodist church in Peter Tavy have for the fifth year held the harvest festival in a local village farmers barn. There is crafts and competitions from 3pm until 4.15, with a cup of tea and cookies and quick tidy up with an all age celebration at 4.45 until 5.30 when we conclude with a pastie and pudding supper. numbers attending have grown year on year, this year 150 pasties were ordered and all but 2 eaten!! it is well supported by the village and now many are coming from Tavistock. Last year we had a duck race through the barn, and the year before sheep racing! the barn is decorated with greenery and flowers, a small alter of straw bales is centre. The village Anglican congregation join in as well. This year, on the evening before a barn dance was held, approx. 50 people attended. previous to the barn harvest, congregations for harvest was around 20 people. still held on a sunday afternoon, there is something for all ages, and many families come together.
