The congregation at Christ Church Parracombe are pleased to be able to help continue to celebrate Plough Sunday in collaboration with members of Blackmoor Gate Young Farmers. They brought the plough in to the church and helped to lead some of the readings. This year we were especially delighted to welcome Dr Mark Butchers, Archdeacon of Barnstaple to conduct the service. In his address he explained the significance of the development of the plough both in expanding agriculture and developing the community. After the service, members of the PCC provided refreshments, tea, coffee and very nice cake. We were pleased to welcome other members of the Lyn Mission Group to the congregation. We were especially delighted to welcome a young member of the congregation, young Rian, grandson of our church warden rang the bells for us.
