Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse is already something that happens in our rural communities, and can already be exacerbated by rural isolation. With the coronavirus this isolation has become even more profound and concerns about rising levels of domestic abuse have been widely reported.

Below you will find links to both further information on this very sad subject and resources and signposts for anyone who may be suffering - please pass them on if you can do so safely for the person concerned.

First Light is a charity supporting people in Cornwall, Devon and Wiltshire who have been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.  In 2017 Twelves Company and Skoodyha merged to become First Light.  We are independent of statutory agencies, including the Police, and every year we help thousands of men, women and children in the South West to lead safer lives, free from violence and abuse.
